Robert Goodis Dot Com Presents: The Project Car
This is my 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Police
Interceptor (CVPI) - often called a P71 for it's
VIN identification.
I purchased it through an auction and picked
up the car in Manhattan back in September
2007.
As time goes on, I am constantly repairing,
upgrading, modifying, and otherwise fixing-up
this old New York City Police Department
(that's right, the NYPD) unmarked slick-top
highway detective's car.
Despite his enthusiasm for the car, the previous owner was a bit neglectful. This, of
course, is a problem with buying a car through the web, since I didn't have the chance to
check it out for myself before I bought it. I strongly recommend personally inspecting any
car before you buy it. Vehicle history reports, I learned, do not tell you everything.
Even after the neglect, the car is alright. I've poured money into it since the day I got it, and
its starting to show.
I'll get around to posting pictures of the engine compartment before I started to work on it.
For now, I'm just going to give some samples of what you can expect to see down the road.

Video: Why Buy a Police Car?
The first photo here was taken by the previous
owner - a police photographer who bought the
car from the department when the car was
retired. This was the primary photo used for
auctioning the vehicle. That's right, I bought
it at an online auction (eBay, to be exact).
